The Institute of Islamic and Interfaith Studies has announced two series of lectures by Imam Mamadou Toure.
The first will be on "Islam and Human Rights" and will be held on Sundays during February. The second will be on "Marriage and Family Life in Islam,"
and dates for this will be posted on the calendarwhen they are announced. PDF brochures are available for:

Imam Toure spoke at the Chico (CA) Area Interfaith Council. The Chico Enterprise Record wrote a story about his talk in the Sunday edition of the paper. The article is entitled "Imam: Militants distort true nature of Islam" and can be found in the Articles page.

Imam Mamadou Toure, founder and president of the Insitute of Islamic and Inter-faith Studies delivered the morning sermon at the Atkinson Memorial Church in Oregon City, Oregon. Imam Toure's sermon was entitled "The challenges of religion today".

Imam Mamadou Toure, founder and president of the Institute of Islamic and Interfaith Studies and Imam at the Bilal Mosque
in Beaverton, hosted an interfaith event. Rabbi Arie Hershfelt of the Pne Or community and Dr Jerry Brown of the Atkinson Memorial Church were invited at
the Bilal Mosque, along with members of their communities. Rabbi Arie spoke on Judaism and Dr. Brown on Christianity. Following the presentations, the 3
communities got together for refreshments and one on one conversations. The Christian and Jewish guests were given a tour of the Mosque prior to their
departure.
14 April 2007 The
President of the Institute of Islamic and Inter-faith Studies, Imam Mamadou Toure joined Rabbi Zalman Schachter-Shalomi in an inter-faith dialogue in Ashland,
Oregon. A story about the dialogue appeared in Jewish Review in an article from May 1, 2007 titled
"Jewish-Muslim Dialogue Lights Up Ashland"
